A teaser image supposedly for Far Cry 4 has recently surfaced that hints that we could be hearing more from the crazy Vaas Montenegro in April 2014, but is it the real deal?
The image appeared online late last week and shows Far Cry 3 antagonist and all around badass Vaas straitjacketed and grinning in the confines of a padded cell – the walls of which are covered in various scribblings. One of these particular scribbles notes a specific date – 04.04.2014 – which you can see on the left side of the back wall just below the words “follow me”.
Now on first appearances, it’s looks more than just a little bit fake. Whilst the artwork itself is pretty impressive, the spacing in the logo is pretty shoddy and the font for the supposed tagline “The insanity is back” is just more than a little cheap looking. But could be there be some truth behind the likely lies?
Earlier this month, Far Cry composer Cliff Martinez told Lost In The Multiplex that he was currently working on “a video game called Far Cry 4″ – a quote which now seems to have mysteriously disappeared from the composers interview. My thoughts on this is that Martinez may have gotten a bit of a slap on the wrist from the folks at Ubisoft and asked to have the quote removed.
With the recent complications causing the delay of Watch Dogs on all platforms and how busy Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are keeping them, it’s a little hard to believe that Ubisoft would have anything solid to show off for Far Cry 4 at this point. However with the huge popularity of Far Cry 3, they’d be crazier than Vaas not to consider a follow up.
