Game of Thrones, based on the George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels, is set for release in the UK on 8th June 2012. The release of the official videogame has been timed to celebrate the season two finale of the massively popular TV show of the same name.
Whilst the title is based on Martin’s works, a brand new story was developed for the game with creative input from George R.R, Martin himself. In fact, we were told that if applicants to work on the title hadn’t read the books, they were shown the door.
Game of Thrones is an RPG title that puts gamers into the boots of Mors, Sworn Brother of the Night’s Watch, and Alester, a Red Priest in search of redemption, on their quest for the famous Iron Throne. Players can expect to visit familiar locations from Westeros, such as The Wall and the famous King’s Landing, as well as familiar faces such as Queen Cersei, Varys the Spider and Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.
In true RPG fashion, players can pick a character class and level up as they head on their quest, gaining experience to improve their abilities and acquiring plenty of loot to pimp out your character in to a fighting force. However, some situations are said to be best resolved with words rather than the tip of a broadsword.

Game Of Thrones will be released in the UK on June 8th 2012 for PC, X360 and PS3.
