Activision have officially confirmed Black Ops 2 with the accidental release of a new trailer which offers a near-future setting and open-world themed single player game.
“Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.”
Earlier today, news of three images claiming to be screenshots for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 have been posted on Japanese site Doope!
The title looks to have a more futuristic setting with plenty of brown and environmental damage to be seen. We can also see in a screenshot the earlier rumoured Quadrotor, images of which can be seen on the official Call of Duty website, which features a small swarm of them engaging in a firefight.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is scheduled for release on November 13th 2012 for X360, PS3 and PC.
